About Horacio Leanza

I hold a degree in Environmental Science and have spent more than 45 years in the Oil & Gas chemical industry, developing chemical products for drilling muds and for the treatment of oil, gas and produced water. I started in 1979 as a technician in the drilling mud fluids development laboratory and, seventeen years later, moved to the chemical products laboratory for oil and gas production. I never stopped specializing from there: heading the R&D laboratory, managing quality, safety and environment for international operations, founding Bolland y Cía S.A.'s Chemical Emergency Response Service as Chemical Safety Officer, alongside leading R&D for Bolland y Cía's Chemical Treatments Business Unit, and later at Pecom Servicios Energía.

Alongside this, I taught General and Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Industrial Processes and Operations, and coordinated degree programs in environment and quality of life. I've written technical articles, presented papers at industry conferences, and I'm a co-author of patents.

Since 2024 I've worked as an independent consultant in Oilfield and Drilling Chemicals Products, working with companies to develop custom fluids and chemical products and to resolve Chemical and Environmental Safety matters, so they can respond confidently to audits, bids and emergencies.

I also provide consulting in chemical product development and Chemical and Environmental Safety for other industries, for clients who need the same technical rigor applied to other processes.
